Hilton Hotels St Louis Downtown

I am planning to go to the U2 concert at Busch Stadium next summer. I've never been San Luis, before, so I do not know what the city is like a gateway. And I was hoping if St. Louisans here could ring at its input. I'm looking for the hotels around Busch Stadium. There are a number of them on the street 4, which is one of the three blocks between the stadium and the Gateway Arch. The Millennium Hotel, Hyatt Regency, St. Louis downtown Hilton, and the Drury Plaza Hotel at the bow are a little too expensive. I am very interested in the Crowne Plaza St. Louis Downtown, as it is the cheapest I could find so far. How is the area between the Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch? Would it be safe walking down the Calle 4 at night? And if a hotel of Missouri has other recommendations St. Louis, please let me know.

The areas we are talking about are safe. After the concerts there are plenty of other people and the presence police. The area beween the stadium and the arch is fine, but the Arch grounds arent open at night so it probably wouldnt go there at night. People walk around the time in the middle of the night. There are tons of lofts in the area for people to live there and there are a lot of offices and other businesses. My only advice would be to stay out of dark alleys or too far from the beaten track. Stay south of Delmar Plaza / Convention. About all you have to deal with is some homeless may ask for a handout. If you park your vehicle in the area, make sure that nothing of value in sight. We have a history of breaking the window to catch thieves electronics etc. While the downtown hotels can be a little high, you will have access to secure garage and the convenience of walking to the stadium is worth a lot. Traffic becomes too heavy for large events and parking is very expensive if you can find anything close.
